Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Health Care Aides (HCAs) to join our team in supporting a youth with complex medical needs in a comfortable, family-style residential home.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily care activities: toileting, commode use, repositioning, G-tube feeding support, personal hygiene, and dressing.
- Safely assist with two-person lifts and transfers.
- Monitor for signs of seizure activity; follow detailed medical protocols as trained.
- Engage the youth in joyful activities such as music, art, wheelchair walks, and recreational outings (when appropriate).
- Support communication using both low- and high-tech assistive devices (training provided).
- Provide calm, respectful emotional support — maintaining a low-stimulation environment when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living space.
- Document care activities and shifts accurately and professionally.
- Operate wheel chair van when needed
- Work some overnight shifts if needed (can be discussed)
Qualifications:
- Registered Health Care Aide (HCA) certification in BC or equivalent.
- 3+ years experience supporting individuals with complex medical needs preferred (however, new grads with strong clinical placements are welcome to apply!).
- Understanding of G-tube care, seizure protocols, and complex mobility support preferred (or willing to learn).
- Strong emotional resilience, patience, and a teamwork mindset.
- Ability to safely lift and assist (two-person transfers).
- Current CPR/First Aid certification. (we can assist in this also)
- Clear criminal record check required. Must be able to pass a Ministry (MCFD) security clearance
- Valid BC Drivers License is a asset
