About This Role

We are hiring for a role within an established residential home supporting two young children.

The home has a strong, experienced team and well-developed routines already in place. We are looking for someone who can step into this environment and contribute positively to the consistency and stability of care.

The children may present with autism and other neurodivergent needs, and benefit from calm, structured, and engaging support.

This is not a fill-in role — we are looking for someone who can become a reliable, trusted part of the team and home environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Support daily routines (meals, hygiene, activities, bedtime)
  • Prepare and cook simple, healthy meals for the children
  • Provide hands-on care including diapering, hygiene, and personal care support
  • Follow established care and behaviour plans
  • Create and maintain a calm, structured environment
  • Support communication, life skills, and development
  • Engage in play, sensory activities, and outdoor time
  • Administer medications and follow medical routines (training provided)
  • Complete daily documentation
  • Work closely with a small, consistent team to ensure continuity of care

  • HCA (Health Care Assistant) – strong asset
  • ECE / ECA – strong asset
  • Educational Assistant (EA)
  • Autism Support Worker / Behaviour Interventionist
  • Residential Child & Youth Worker

  • Have experience supporting children with autism or neurodivergent needs
  • Are calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent
  • Are comfortable working within structured routines and expectations

  • Are comfortable providing hands-on, day-to-day care in a home setting

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or youth
  • First Aid & CPR (if expired, we can assist with renewal)
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Must be able to pass BC Ministry (MCFD) background check
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Ability to administer medication or willingness to learn
  • Valid driver’s licence (required)
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work location
